WAR FOR THE PLANET OF THE APES
In early 2016, Chris Eyerman of studio 3AM had asked me to create three title sequence concepts for War for the Planet of the Apes.  This project came at a perfect time, allowing me to break away and highlight some of my freshly acquired 3D skills.  Although the concepts were eventually not selected for the film, I’m a big fan of this franchise and it was indeed a tremendous honor to be involved.

RITUAL
“Only the dead have seen the end of war” - Plato
Ritual, memory, snow, flame, death, honor, and family blend together in a dark, lucid stream of impressionistic images and unadorned with the repercussions of the events leading up to WAR.

THE ABANDONED WORLD
Haunting images that depict the unraveling of civilization and the rise of apes are projected onto real-life abandoned objects and architecture; thus, creating an expression of time and space that contrasts human existence with the quietude of its disappearance.  The tone is moody and forlorn, lulling the viewer into the dark events surrounding War.
RECLAMATION
Plant life invades the intricate tableaux of human and ape figures frozen in moments of anguish, survival, and conflict.  Iconic and provocative imagery from the last two franchise films, as well as the events leading to War, are revealed through a suffocating, animated overgrowth of nature that gives form to each figure and scene.
